Pam trained with the Balanced Body Pilates Teaching Certification program at Ellie Herman Studio in San Francisco. She has a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah and was introduced to Pilates by two professors during her undergraduate program. Sally Fit authored the Pilates reference book, Dance Kinesiology, during Pam’s time in the department using the students as her control group. Susan McLain, a former principal dancer with Martha Graham, was a dance professor at the University of Utah and a Pilates instructor whose mentorship of Pam was a huge influence. Pam moved to San Francisco to perform in a modern dance company after college. During her time dancing with the company, she took Pilates sessions at the St. Francis Hospital Rehabilitation Clinic in San Francisco.
Using her knowledge of the body she worked as a massage therapist and trainer for Spa Nordstrom. She trained the massage therapist teams for Nordstrom Spa openings across the country focusing on correct body ergonomics to help avoid injuries. Pam brings a love of movement and deep understanding of body mechanics and alignment to her Pilates practice.
Pam teaches Pilates Mat Classes and offers Private Pilates Mat Sessions.
