Vinyasa Flow offers a modern spin off of the traditional practice of Ashtanga Yoga. There is no set sequence of poses, so there is always an element of surprise. Vinyasa teachers choreograph their classes to smoothly transition from pose to pose, encouraging students to “move with their breath.”
Students can expect to do Sun Salutations, standing and seated poses, core work, inversions, back bending, and end with a deep relaxation. Typically there is music playing to help keep the energy flowing. If you are looking for a more athletic style of yoga this is the way to go.
