HBC is proud to host the University of San Francisco men’s team take on the University of the Pacific in a non-conference dual match on Saturday February 4th. USF are currently ranked 67th in the nation and UOP are currently ranked 75th. Teams will be warming up at 11:30am, with the match beginning at 1pm. Both the warm up and match will be held on courts 1-6.

HBC is pleased to announce the coming arrival of HBC Online, the club’s new cloud-based club management system.  HBC Online will provide HBC the very latest technology tools and a vast array of benefits to HBC members and guests.

Once fully implemented HBC Online will include 24/7 account access, improved billing options, court reservations & appointment scheduling, registration for all HBC services from any computer or mobile device, and much more!  Integration with HBC’s website will make access to these features convenient and all features are processed through paperless methods to support HBC’s move towards greener business practices.

The full features of HBC Online will be introduced to members and implemented in stages throughout 2012. The first phase of implementation will occur in early February during which time all member account information will be converted to the new system.  Features which will be activated during this initial phase include:

• 24/7 Online account access/management
• Improved Online Appointment Scheduling & Court Reservations
• Billing/Auto-Pay Enhancement

Come out and celebrate the start of Super Bowl weekend with the 7th Annual Super Tennis Bowl Mixer! The format will be doubles 10-point tiebreakers. First, teams are divided into the AFC and NFC before being given a team to represent. Round robins are then played, followed by a compass draw which will determine our Super Tennis Bowl Champions!

The event includes food, drinks and snacks as well as many prizes for a few lucky winners. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite football gear! Entry fee is $10 for members and non-members and is limited to 16 players.

This is a motivational weight loss program designed to help members and staff keep their New Year’s resolutions and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle year round. Participants are weighed bi-weekly and will receive special discounts in most areas of the Club. There will be 12 special lectures and training sessions for those who sign up with possibly more!

Prizes are awarded to the Club whose cumulative members lose the most weight. HBC will award prizes to individuals who lose the most weight, the most inches, and the most body fat!

7-Week Sessions 5 times a year thru the school year!

HBC’s Junior Tennis Program offers clinics in a 7-week session format through the school year.  HBC utilizes the USTA 10 and Under (Quick Start) Tennis methodology featuring low-compression balls, age-appropriate racquets and reduced size courts and nets to help get kids playing right away and having FUN while they learn and advance!  For more info on Quick Start go to www.10andundertennis.com.  Five 7-week sessions are offered as follows:

Over 60 junior tennis players who participated in HBC’s Fall Jr. Tennis Sessions joined HBC Tennis staff for a season ending tennis/pizza party on Dec. 16th. Juniors who brought a canned good item were entered into a raffle for prizes, generating a bounty of canned goods which were donated to the Alameda Food Bank.

Thanks to all participants who helped make this a fun-filled event while supporting a great cause.
