She has chosen to apply these principles to her professional life as well and became certified so she could better share her knowledge and experience with others.

Philosophy

My philosophy is to keep life as simple as possible. Being active has enabled me to keep my perspective by clearing my head and finding the humor in the “big picture”. I do not deprive myself of the joys in life and believe that everything in moderation is a good thing. My one rule…..When in doubt, do the next kind thing.

Philosophy

If I could summarize my philosophy it would be Attitude. Having the right attitude is the key to success. Any endeavor starts with the right frame of mind. A positive attitude magnifies and attracts results. This carries over to all areas of your life. In fitness, having the right attitude towards your health is essential to achieving your fitness goals. It’s important to have a strategy and not give up if you fail to achieve a goal. Ed Mangonon – Fitness Trainer

Background

Edward is a 1995 graduate of San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, concentrating in pre-physical therapy. He is certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). He received a certificate in massage therapy at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, Ca in 1996.

Experience

After graduating, Edward interned for six months in the Physical Therapy Department at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, assisting in the rehabilitation of patients. He then worked for over three years at Health South, a physical therapy facility, where he specialized with patients who had sports and work-related injuries. One of his primary interests is massage therapy, which he has practiced for over seven years.

Philosophy

As children we all enjoyed movement through play. But when adult responsibilities decreased our time for play and movement lessens, our health begins to suffer. Although this is a reality, it is not one we must accept as final. Our bodies are designed to function well with movement, and activities that include motion should be maintainer throughout our lives. We do no need to have the attitude that it is too late to keep in shape. I love to help clients regain the joy of physical movement that they had in they youth. All it takes is a little discipline and a willingness to move. The result are well worth it!

Philosophy

My favorite workout routines include weight lifting, swimming and mountain biking. My hope is that by sharing my training experiences with others and, hopefully, preventing them from making the same mistakes I did, I can help them create a more fulfilling lifestyle without injury. Suzanne Fong – Fitness Trainer

Suzanne is certified as a Personal Trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She has completed classes Perinatal Fitness, Nutrition Fundamentals, and Complete Core Care. Before becoming involved in the health and fitness field, she taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at the college/university level, holding an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and a B.A. in Linguistics and French. She has a total of 15 years experience teaching adults.

She has been helping moms get back into shape ever since, teaching both fitness and stroller fitness classes for moms, combining cardio, strength training and flexibility.

Philosophy

I like to help everyday people improve themselves. This has been true throughout my career, first as an ESL instructor and now as a Fitness Trainer. Within a month of completing an exercise program you are healthier, stronger and more fit. Personally, the best thing about pregnancy and nursing was being able to eat as much as I wanted. Now, I’ve found that if I exercise consistently, I can continue to do so. It’s all about balancing eating and drinking, exercise, sleep, and relaxation. All are necessary elements in a healthy, happy life.

Several years of nonprofit work included public health education on cardiovascular disease and establishing corporate wellness programs throughout Alameda County. For over ten years she has enjoyed training herself and coaching others to participate in walking marathons.

Philosophy

The human body was designed to move! Modern conveniences and hectic schedules have made it less necessary and less likely that we will move as much as we should for optimum health. I want to help bring back the joy of movement to others; to help people regain, maintain, and improve their health. By dispelling the confusion and mystique of obtaining physical fitness I will work with you to make your journey to better health be successful.
